Today's dentistry is a paradise for fulfilling a patient's every desire.

The dentist can not only whiten your teeth to make them look like a Hollywood smile, or decorate them with rhinestones. The dentist can change your smile beyond recognition: fix your bite, place braces, use implants or veneers.

One of the fashionable and rather eccentric requests to dentists today is fangs.

Yes, exactly fangs, like vampires or cats, each with their own motives.

You can turn your fangs into real fangs in several ways:

  • Removable canine overlay.
  • Shaping your new tooth shape with photopolymer.
  • Fang veneers.
  • Fang Dental Implants.

If you want to have prominent fangs, it is not necessary to immediately resort to radical measures and install implants.

START WITH SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A REMOVABLE DENTAL ONLAY

It has several advantages:

  • Affordable price.
  • You can remove it at any time.
  • You don't have to extract or grind your tooth in order to use the overlay

THE NEXT OPTION TO GET FANGS IS TO USE PHOTOPOLYMER

In fact, every one of you knows what this is. A dentist uses photopolymer to fill holes in your teeth when filling them, mask cracks, and repair chips.

Once you visit your dentist and explain what you want, he can easily help you get fangs.

But, before that, your teeth will be checked and treated, if necessary. And, of course, a hygienic cleaning will be performed. After that, the dentist, with the power of photopolymer, will form the shape of the fang on your tooth and fix it with a lamp. The dentist will do the same with the second tooth.

The whole procedure will take no more than an hour.

Advantages of using photopolymer:

  • The speed of the procedure.
  • The cost of the service is very affordable.
  • You will be able to remove fangs without much trauma to your teeth.

FANG VENEERS

Veneers are a more complex and less gentle option for your teeth.

First of all, you should consider that good, high-quality and durable veneers are expensive.

Secondly, it is irrevocable.

The veneer procedure involves removing the enamel from your real tooth and making the tooth flat so that the veneer can be attached comfortably.

Once the enamel is removed, the tooth is left unprotected. After this procedure, you will be forced to wear veneers forever.

So if you only want veneers placed for your fangs, think twice.

Of course, later you can remove the fang-shaped veneer and install an imitation regular tooth, but remember that high-quality veneers are made by a dental technician to order, which means that they are not cheap.

The benefits of placing a veneer:

  • It looks realistic
  • No need to worry that it will fall off the tooth at the wrong time.

Cons:

  • Price.
  • Requires compliance with all rules of care for veneers.

FANG TEETH IMPLANTS

Here we move on to the most radical way to get fangs - implants.

Implants are true fang surgery, so let's look at the fang implant process, specifically what happens before, during and after the procedure.

The whole process from start to finish, that is, from tooth extraction to the final placement of the implant, is quite long. It can be divided into five stages.

So, in terms of the process, the first step is the most important process.

First, a comprehensive examination must be performed, including X-rays, impressions, and shade selection. Dentists will examine the bone, the implant site and determine which implant and which procedure should be performed.

Also, during the initial examination, you will study the patient's medical history, which is very important, doctors need to make sure there are no contraindications for the placement of the implant.

The second step is the extraction of the tooth.

If there is a need to remove a tooth, it is done as follows.  Depending on the case, this can be done before the implant is placed, and sometimes it can be done at the same time.

Thus, the dentist may remove the tooth and then place the implant on the same day.

So, during the tooth extraction procedure, the dentist anesthetizes the patient, then removes the tooth and gives post-operative instructions.

The third step is the actual placement of the dental implant and bone grafting, if needed.

If bone grafting is not necessary, the implant can be placed right away. If bone grafting is necessary, it can be done before the implant is placed or even while the implant is in place.

If a bone graft is placed before then, the patient will usually have to wait a few months for the bone to harden and then the dentist can place the implant.

After the implant is placed, the next step can take anywhere from three to six months.

The next step, the fourth, is the placement of the abutment.

Once the implant site is stable, the dentist will place an abutment on it. The abutment connects the implant to the crown, and also helps hold the tissue in position for the crown to sit properly.  So this is also a very important part of the process.

Finally, step five.

Once everything has healed and the implant in the gum bone looks good, the crown can be fabricated.

There are two crown options for the implant: screw-retained or cement-retained.

With screw-retained crowns, the access hole will be slightly visible, even if you fill it with a filling material. But they do give you a better option for accessing the implant. If the implant ever has to be retightened, for example, because it will loosen.

A cement retainer has no access hole, so it will be much more cosmetic, the crown will not be visible as a dark area. But if for some reason something happens to the implant and it needs to be tightened, then you will have to destroy the crown to gain access to the implant.

We must warn you of several things at once:

One: If your canine is healthy and not indicated for extraction, you will need to look for a specialist who will agree to remove your healthy tooth and put an implant in its place at your whim.

Second: Insurance is unlikely to cover such whims.
