He graduated from the second medical faculty of Kyiv Medical Institute in 1986. After completing his internship in ophthalmology at the Department of Eye Diseases of the Kyiv Medical Institute, he worked as an ophthalmologist at the Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital and Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Zgurovsk Central Regional Hospital in Kyiv region. In 1990, he attended advanced courses on "Eye Microsurgery" at the Department of Ophthalmology, KMAPO, on the basis of Kiev Hospital Center of Eye Microsurgery.

From 1991 till 1999, Dr Prozhoga was Head of the eye unit of the Obukhovsky central regional hospital in Kyiv region. After that, he worked as a senior resident at the children's eye department of the Kiev Regional Clinical Hospital.

Since 2004 - Head of Children's Department of Excimer Eye Clinic. Leading ophthalmic surgeon (specialist in strabismus). He has a huge practical experience in treating all forms of strabismus in children and adults, and treatment of dacryocystitis in new-born, nystagmus, etc.

Since 2006 - Head of the Refractive Surgery Unit of the Excimer Eye Clinic. He is fluent in Lasik, PRK, EPI-K, PTK, Custom Vue and thin-flap techniques of Excimer-laser vision correction. He is a leading refractive surgeon.

Takes an active part in scientific and practical conferences. Has 6 published works. In 2007 - nominated for the N.I. Piilman Award. N.I. Pilman Award "For Achievements in Children's Ophthalmology".

In 2011, he specialised in orthokeratology treatment (use of Paragon CRT 100 night wear lenses). In 2011, took a practical course on using the UV-X-TM device (Switzerland) to treat corneal diseases (keratoconus etc.).

In 2013, he specialised in femtosecond laser - courses on femtosecond laser correction, corneal ring implantation, and corneal femto-transplantation in Spain.
