She graduated from Vinnitsa Medical Institute in 1984. After completing her internship at Mykolaiv Emergency Hospital and specialization at the department of ophthalmology of Kyiv Advanced Training Institute for Doctors, worked as an ophthalmologist at the Chervonograd Central State Hospital in Lviv region.

From 1990 to 1993, Dr Kalymun was trained in clinical residency at Kyiv Advanced Medical Training Institute. Dr Kalymun regularly underwent training courses at the Department of Ophthalmology, Lvov Medical Institute, and at clinical residency unit of Kiev Advanced Medical Training Institute, based on the MNTK "Eye Microsurgery" in Cheboksary, Saint-Petersburg, on "Laser therapeutic techniques in ophthalmology", "Intraocular laser techniques of therapy for eye disorders".

From 1993 to 1996 she worked as an ophthalmologist at Fedorovsky Ophthalmology Center.

Since 2000 - an ophthalmologist in the Excimer Eye Clinic in Kiev. A leading retinologist (specialist in the treatment of retina). A doctor- glaucomatologist. Fluent in modern diagnostic techniques of the visual system, therapeutic and laser methods of treatment of retinal diseases and glaucoma. Takes part in international congresses and conferences. She has 12 publications and 3 patents. Works on a thesis for laser treatment of glaucoma. Total work experience - 33 years.
